A recent piece in the Electrical Contracting News has been exploring the implications of the country’s political dilemma. This has stemmed from the latest sector-wide Building Engineering Business Survey, sponsored by Scolmore, showing that sector growth has remained steady in the third quarter of 2019. With the commercial outlook for Q4 broadly similar, however it is important to note that there is a small increase in businesses (25 per cent) believing their turnover will decrease.
Let’s face it, we still have no clarity on whether we are going to bowl out of Europe with a ‘no-deal’ , which will inevitably have an effect on delays and complications for materials and labour availability. So it is not over yet and who knows what the future holds, but at least for the moment things are holding steady!
